"Water from the rock
Numbers 20:1-13
Click here to listen to this talk We looked at how Moses let anger interfere with his relationship with God and he didn't do exactly as he was told. Also at the importance of following God completely not just doing part of what He says.

"The Covenant Confirmed" - Stephen Moore
Exodus 24:1-18

Exodus 20:1-17
Click here to listen to this talk, in which Robin looked at the reasons God gave the law and the Ten Commandments to the Israelites, and their relevance for us today. He looked at the underlying principles of the Ten Commandments rather than each one in turn. He finished by looking at what Jesus meant when He said He had come to fulfil the law, and how that impacts us today.

"Preparing To Meet With God" - Stephen Moore
Exodus 19:9-25
Click here to listen to this talk, in which Stephen explored the preparations the Israelites had to make in order to meet with God. It took three days, and involved a lot of abstinance and hard work. He then contrasted this with how we can approach God today.

"God's Covenant With Moses" - Robin Hawkins

"Jethro's Visit" - Georges Kisombola
Exodus 18:1-27
Click here to listen to this talk, in which Georges explored Exodus 18:1-27. He stated that the first half of this chapter reveals several symptoms of a serious problem in Moses' life as a Leader, which prompted not only the "arrival" of Jethro at the Israelites' camp, but also his "advice". He concluded by saying that Jethro's advice is as relevant to every Christian today as it was to Moses centuries ago.

"Moses & The Amalekites"
Exodus 17:8-16
Click here to listen to this talk, in which we saw in this passage the vital part that prayer plays in keeping us focused on the vision to which God's called us, and in overcoming the obstacles our enemy places in our way. God used this battle to show the Israelites how much they needed their leaders. Robin allied the Amalekites with our old selfish natures, and we saw that the battle against the "trash" in our lives (our old selfish natures) is very similar to their battle against the Amalekites, not only for us as individuals, but also for us as a church. Robin went on to talk about where the battle is taking place for us - mainly our minds, and how we are to conduct our warfare.

"Water From The Rock" - Robin Hawkins
Exodus 17:1-7
Click here to listen to this talk, in which Robin brought out the gospel of God's grace, as once again the Lord provided the Israelites with water. This passage is full of pictures - the desert being our own lives, our own walk of discipleship is like the journey the Israelites were on; the Rock is a picture of Jesus, and the water is the Water of Life - the Holy Spirit. Robin went on to refer to the Wise and Foolish Builders, and reminded us of the importance of building our lives on the Rock of God's Word.

"Manna Cakes!" - Georges Kisombola
Exodus 16:1-7
Click here to listen to this talk, in which Georges reminded us that we are connected to the God of creation who for 40 years used his creativity to provide Manna to the Children of Israel in the desert. But Israelites grew tired of it that they wished to go back to Egypt. We were reminded that those who have received Christ, must by faith live upon him, and not receive his grace in vain. There was manna enough for all, enough for each, and none had too much; so in Christ there is enough, but not more than we need.

Exodus 15:22-25 - "Handling Disappointment"
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin talked about the experience of disappointment faced by the Israelites at Marah, and compared it to our own walk with God. How do we respond when things don't work out as we expect? Do we get bitter and angry, do we murmur against our leaders, does our faith crumple when it's under real pressure? Or do we stand firm in our trust of God, and keep rejoicing, until He shows us the way forward?.

Exodus 15:1-21 - "The Song Of Moses"
Click here to listen to this talk in which Stephen looked at this great song of praise, rejoicing and triumph. Their enemy had finally been defeated utterly. They had crossed the sea and they knew they were free from their foe. We have a foe, and Jesus defeated him at Calvary.

Exodus 13:17 - 15:2 - "Crossing The Red Sea" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin looked at the significance of this event as it relates to baptism. He then looked at why they took this southern route; their reactions to being trapped by Pharoah, and how our Warrior God fought for them and opened up the sea, delivering them finally from the grip of Pharoah.

Exodus 11:1-10; 12:12-13, 26-36; 13:1-2 - "The Tenth Plague" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin continued to explore the last plague of the slaughter of the firstborn, and the instituting of the Passover. He looked at the consequences of Pharaoh's rejection of God's many words to him, and the retribution that followed: i) God hardening Pharaoh's heart, ii) The slaying of the firstborn, and iii) the plunder of Egypt. It was against this backdrop that God's glorious plan of Redemption appears as such amazing grace.

Exodus 11 to 12:13 - "The Passover" - Stephen Moore
Click here to listen to this talk in which Stephen spoke about the last plague - the slaughter of the first-born, and how the Passover was instituted. He showed us what a powerful picture of the gospel the Passover gives us, and how Jesus is the perfect Lamb that was slain for us.

Exodus 7:8 to 10:29 - "The Plagues Of Egypt" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin explored the purpose of the plagues as the means by which God revealed His mighty and sovereign power to the world. Each was an attack on the gods worshipped by the Egyptians. The relevance for us is that so many of the religious beliefs and practices of ancient Egypt are to found in our own society, mainly in New Age philosophy and Hinduism. Robin ended by pointing us forward to Jesus, the ultimate Deliverer, who set us free from slavery to sin, and brought us out of satan's kingdom into the Kingdom of God.

Exodus 7:1-8: "I Am The Lord" - Georges Kisombola
Click here to listen to this talk in which Georges challenged us to consider the sovereignty of God, especially when He asks us to do things on His behalf; and when they don't always turn out as we expect.

Exodus 6:1-8 - "Now You Will See What God Will Do" - John Pearson
Click here to listen to this talk in which John Pearson spoke on dealing with disappointment and how we need to focus our attention on God. We need to have a Theocentric view of life. We need to develop habits of thought that place our attention on the presence of God in our lives and to come to him and seek his answer to our disappointment. God gives us Himself and He is known in what He does. His presence, Power and Purpose should occupy our thoughts often and be the lense through which we interpret our lives.

Exodus 4:18-5:5 - "Moses Returns!" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin raised a number of discipleship issues from this passage: Respect for authority(v.18), obedience(v.21a, c/w 5:1-5), right attitudes(5:1), taking proper leadership responsibility(24-26), the need for discernment(27-30 c/w 32:21-24), and the issue about God hardening Pharaoh's heart(v21b). He showed that this is something we all do if we're not careful (Ps 95:7-8), and left us with some "everyday" suggestions as to how we can avoid doing so.

Chapters 3 & 4: "Moses - The Reluctant Missionary" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin explored the excuses Moses made to God's call on his life. Moses tried to claim he was Insignificant as a person, Ignorant about God, Impotent to make anyone believe him, Incompetant to communicate God's message, and finally all this previous discussion was Irrelevant because actually he didn't want to do it. But God is not easy to say No to; and when He chooses someone for His work, He doesn't give up on them.

Exodus 3 - "I AM - THE LORD, THE ALMIGHTY" - Dave Sansum
Click here to listen to this talk in which Dave encouraged us when we read the Scriptures, to be open to what God wants to show us about Himself and His will for our lives. From the passage Dave spoke about the following principles: 1/God wants us to know Him. 2/God wants to involve us in His plans. 3/God is Holy - approach Him with reverence. 4/God cares about us. 5/God is transcendent (far beyond us) as well as imminent (right here) .

Exodus 1 & 2 - "Moses The Failure" - Robin Hawkins
Click here to listen to this talk in which Robin raised a number of issues including the prophecy to Abraham in Genesis 15 concerning the 400yr stay of the Israelites in Egypt, their being enslaved, and why this was all necessary. He looked at the midwives who honoured God above Pharoah, and were themselves honoured by God. Finally he looked at how God chose Moses before he was born, protected him, and yet let him make mistakes that God used to prepare Moses for the purpose of leading God's people to freedom.

"Introduction To Exodus" - Stephen Moore
Click here to listen to this talk in which Stephen put Exodus into its historical context, and took us through some of the great themes covered in this book.
