Meet our Elders ...
Eldership: 1 Peter 5:1-4 and Heb 13:7-17 show us that oversight of the church's activities is in thier hands. They are responsible for our development together and for the care and growth of individuals.
Here at The King's Church in Ilford we have a team of three Elders:
Robin Hawkins
- Married to Julie, with whom he had a ministry in music for some years, Robin worked in industry for 23 years before going full-time in church leadership.
- He has served as Senior Elder at King’s since it was planted in 1995.
- When he’s not involved in leading the church, you may find him on the golf course, or at home making guitars.
Ben Walker
- Married to Maureen with two sons Mark and Andrew. Ben is a craftsman who runs his own business fitting kitchens.
- Ben has been an Elder at King’s for six years, and few things give him greater joy than telling someone about Jesus.
- Ben has been known to swing the odd golf club, but these days you’re more likely to find him swinging to Trad. Jazz.
David Sansum
- Married to Gayle and now with thier first child. Dave is a Financial Accountant for a Docklands based company.
- Dave and Gayle lead Pulse. It has been very encouraging to see the youth grow in relationship with Jesus and become more active in evangelism. We thank God that the membership of the youth cells has grown from 10 to 25 in the last year.
- In their spare time they enjoy watching movies, eating curries and playing table football together. Gayle's other interests include politics. Dave is a member of the London Cycling Campaign.
