Driving Directions

The King's Church is located on the Commonwealth Estate in North East Ilford. This area is sandwiched between Perth Road to the East and Cranbrook Road to the West.

Coming from the A406 - North Circular Road
From the A406 (North Circular Road) take the ILFORD exit.
At the first traffic lights turn RIGHT, and CONTINUE STRAIGHT up Ilford Hill crossing a two more sets of lights (one at a junction with traffic filtering to a left turn and another with a zebra crossing and traffic coming from the right) KEEPING LEFT.
Turn LEFT at the top of Ilford Hill onto Cranbrook Road, heading past Ilford Station.
Continue on Cranbrook Road, passing the shops, and take (at the third set of traffic lights) what is the FIRST possible RIGHT turn onto Coventry Road.
Take the next LEFT turn onto Granville Road. The King's Centre is the building further down on the right that looks like a traditional church!
Coming from the East, along the A12 Eastern Avenue
At Gants Hill Roundabout take the FIRST LEFT onto Cranbrook Road
Continue along Cranbrook Road, going past Valentines Park and turn LEFT onto Coventry Road.
Take the next LEFT turn onto Granville Road. The King's Centre is the building further down on the right that looks like a traditional church!

Sunday parking in the area

Parking is freely available on all roads around The King's Church on a Sunday. There are no parking restrictions on the single yellow lines.


Bank and Public Holiday parking in the area

Parking is freely available on all roads around The King's Church on Bank Holiday and Public Holidays. There are no parking restrictions on the single yellow lines.


Parking on Weekdays and Saturday

Finding a place on a weekday or Saturday around the church is often a challenge, with enforced parking restrictions running in the immediate area Monday to Saturday, from 8:30am to 6:30pm.

Park Avenue
5 metered spaces are available across from The King's Centre. However, they have a 2 hour maximum stay duration. The charges for these spaces are currently:
  • Up to 20 minutes £ 0.55
  • 20 to 40 minutes £ 1.05
  • 40 minutes to 1 hour £ 1.60
  • 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes £ 2.10
  • 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes £ 2.65
  • 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours £ 3.15
Ingleby Road
There are 4 unmetered parking spaces alongside the Centre. Unfortunately these are normally taken!
Parking on the rest of Ingleby Road is next to impossible at any time.
Granville Road
There is a single unmetered parking spot on Granville Road. We wish you well for that one!
There are also 3 metered parking spaces further along from the Centre. These are sometimes free, but cost ...
latest update on these spaces is that only one is still metered, as the other two meters have been stolen!
Valentines Road
Space availability on Valentines Road is slightly better than on Ingleby Road, but not by much.
Melbourne Road
A few spaces can normally be found on Melbourne Road. More spaces tend to be available in the Valentines Park car park off Melbourne Road. However, be warned that the park gates are locked at sunset!
Coventry Road
This road is a major thoroughfare with very few spaces. The latter section nearest the King's Centre is also a one way street.
