Cell Groups ...
Cell Groups are small groups of 7-14 people which meet on Wednesdays or Thursdays in different homes. They are groups where we learn to grow as disciples, and through which we can reach out to our friends with the Gospel.
'Cells' here are not referring to those which holds you captive but rather a 'small living thing' with an aim to grow and multiply! - as this type of cell sets you free.
- As Christians we are called to impact society, and this can only be done by being infectious followers of Christ.
- Such people are:
- Filled with the Holy Spirit
- Reigning in life
- Mature in Christ
- Cell Group Values help us to achieve this.
Cell Groups have 5 goals:
- Building communities
- Outreach
- Making disciples
- Training leaders
- Accountability
- Cells are the place for building friendships, and learning to love one another. But the idea is that Cells grow through friendship evangelism; and are the means through which new believers are discipled. When a Cell reaches about 14 members, it multiplies and becomes two Cells.
- Cells meet for Friendship, Worship, Bible Application, and Praying for growth in the Kingdom.
- These aspects of cell are commonly called the 4 “W’s” - Welcome, Worship, Word and Witness (sometimes it's 5 “W’s” when Wefreshements are included!).
- The structure is flexible. The ultimate goal is to meet with Jesus.
Cell Group Aims
- In a Cell Group we aim to:
-
- Build friendships & community,
- worship together,
- develop spiritual gifts,
- take responsibility,
- be accountable in holiness,
- be accountable in reaching out.
- Day to day pastoral cover is provided through the Cells, and the Cell Group Leader. It would be difficult to be in partnership with King’s, without being part of a Cell Group but you can easily join a Cell now without waiting to become a Partner with us.
- So do see Robin, the Senior Elder, about joining a Cell.
